Today is National Sloppy Joe Day! I remember loving Sloppy Joes as a kid, but my mom always made them the easy way, with a can of Manwich! I decided to make Sloppy Joes since it has been years since I have had one, only I made mine from scratch. Enjoy!
Sloppy Joe
1 pound Ground beef
2 tbs. minced Onion
1 8 oz. can of Tomato sauce
1/2 cup of Ketchup
1 tbs. Sugar
1 tsp. Mustard
1 tbs. Balsamic vinegar
1 tbs. Soy sauce
Salt & Pepper to taste
In a large skillet brown ground beef seasoned with the onion. Drain excess oil. Add the remaining ingredients and lower heat and let simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
I served on Brioche buns alongside some homemade potato chips seasoned with Cajun seasoning. This was my daughter Penelope's first ever Sloppy Joe at 10 years old, she loved it!
