Restaurant Review- Poke n Salad

Not to long ago Poke n Salad opened up in Temecula, and after seeing every one's delicious looking Poke creations on Facebook, I had to check it out.

The concept is simple, healthy, inexpensive and most importantly tasty. You start of with a base of brown or white rice, mixed salad greens or both in your choice of regular ($7.95) or large ($9.95).

Then you choose your proteins which include ahi tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, spicy tuna, salmon, albacore, scallop and tamago. A regular size is 2 scoops and a large is 3, you can also add additional scoops for $1.50. You then choose your sauce that your protein will be mixed in: chipotle mayo, sesame shoyu,  yuzu ponzu, ceviche, house poke.

Finally you choose from a variety of toppings: seaweed salad, edamame, avocado, red onion, cilantro, masago, wasabi, cucumber salad, crabmeat, jalapeno, green onion, sweet corn and ginger.

Here are my moms and my creations. She choose a large white rice with ahi, and spicy tuna in their house poke sauce, which has a little spice in it. Topped with avocado, seaweed salad, edamame, cilantro, masago and jalapenos. I had the mixed organic salad greens with ahi and spicy tuna also in the house poke sauce. Topped with green onion, avocado, cilantro, jalapeno, masago and crabmeat.

These bowls were sooo good, I could literally eat one everyday. By the looks of the place I am not the only one, it was lunchtime, midweek, and the place was packed. It is a small location that only has a few tables inside and a couple outside, we were lucky to pay for our food just as a couple was leaving their table and I quickly snagged it. They also have macaroon ice cream sandwiches for dessert but I noticed this a little too late. Now I have an excuse to go back! If you are looking for something fresh and healthy that is going to totally satisfy you, then give Poke n Salad a try.
